Breast cancer is the most common
cancer among American women next to skin cancers. Men are also susceptible to
breast cancer.
It is
estimated that in 2008, 182,460 new cases of invasive breast cancer and 67,770
new cases of non-invasive carcinoma in-situ (CIS, the earliest form of breast
cancer) will be diagnosed in the United States.
There are
currently about 2.5 million breast-cancer survivors in this country.
