I developed the idea for my collection of cancer-awareness
note cards in 2005, during my first 6 weeks of chemotherapy. At that point I knew
that cancer would not defeat me, but would give my life additional purpose.
Each Hāz for Hope card is handmade and combines my many
years of graphic- and fashion-design experience with my love of unique,
textured papers. Making the cards is therapy for me. At the end of even the worst of days, after putting my children to bed, I can sit down and find peace and comfort from lacing the ribbons into the paper.
Every day, I hope that my note cards will help touch the
heart of someone dealing with cancer. Inside every Hāz for Hope card, I place a
prayer that those touched by cancer will be blessed in some way by their
disease, as I feel I have been by mine.
I will be forever grateful to the local foundation that
helped provide care for my two young children during many of my initial
chemotherapy treatments—and to the foundation that recently sent my parents,
children, and me on a life-changing, two-week road trip to Sedona, Arizona as a
celebration of our collaborative success in fighting the disease.
In my effort to give back, 10% of the proceeds from the sale
of all Hāz for Hope cards is donated to various breast-cancer foundations and
cure research funds.
Thank you for your support!
Blessings,
